At 25 people or more it needs a license — a one-time purchase, priced by company size, that never expires and is counted per company rather than per seat. There is no license key to install: your purchase receipt is the proof, and muster never gates a feature or contacts a server.

how the license works
A single payment, and every release you are licensed for runs forever, with no subscription or renewal. Twelve months of updates are included, and if your company grows into a higher band you pay the difference once.
There is no license key and no activation step. muster never gates a feature and never phones home — your Polar receipt is the proof of license.
the license
muster is licensed under the Business Source License 1.1. You may use it in production if your organization has fewer than 25 employees, provided you don't offer muster itself as a commercial hosted service. Three years after each version ships it converts to Apache-2.0, and the source is public today.
There is no key to activate: the receipt from your purchase is your proof of license, kept wherever your company keeps its invoices.
